I hope the title caught your attention. I hope you’ll take a moment to read this post because it’s serious stuff and we need to be careful.

Satan is up to a lot of things these days – all EVIL – but here’s one particular disturbing thing… he’s casting doubts in believers’ minds. Doubts about the authority of the Bible, the accuracy of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, our faith and salvation. He’s also casting doubts about the teachings of Scripture.

Peter writes…

“Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come,
mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, ‘What happened to the
promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors,
everything has remained the same since the world was first created.'”
2 Peter 3:3-4

Casting doubts! And many have fallen!

Satan is the author of doubts. And it began all the way back in the garden, when he led Adam and Eve to believe that the tree of good and evil – the one God told them not to eat of – wasn’t bad at all (Genesis 3:1-4). They doubted God’s Word and fell for Satan’s deception.

The Bible doesn’t look highly on doubting. Listen carefully to these verses…

“The one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind” (James 1:6).

“Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do” (James 1:8).

Hence, doubters are easily swayed by new ideas and popular theories. They are unstable in EVERYTHING they do.

The apostle Paul says, “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ” (Colossians 2:8)

New ideas are always popping up. Ideas that DO NOT stand on the authority or accuracy of the Bible, nor do they support the fundamental principles handed down from our forefathers. And many of those pushing these new ideas have not been trained in the Scriptures. Please be careful.

Here’s what we need to know…

Doubting crowds out our faith!

Just as theology should outweigh experience, faith should reign over doubts in our life.

Let me offer you three principles that can keep us from doubting…

  1. Spend more time pouring over God’s Word than books!

Studying the real thing helps us pick out counterfeit stuff. The Word of God is the real deal… the TRUTH. The more time we spend learning it, the less likely we’ll be led astray by false teaching.

David writes: “The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart” (Psalm 19:7-8)

Here’s something we need to always keep in mind: Christian publishing companies often ignore solid theology in order to sell a book. They will choose a writer’s work based on popularity and how many followers they have. Therefore, sometimes a book will be released with whacked theology. This isn’t always the case, but it does happen.

We need to make sure that God’s Word always sits on the highest chair of our heart and mind.

2. Memorize biblical promises!

The psalmist says, “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11).

We also are encouraged to “let the word of Christ richly dwell within you” (Colossians 3:16)

Did you know that memorizing Scripture can help keep our minds sharp and clear? And it can also keep doubts at a distance as God’s Word is hidden in our hearts.

3. Ask God for more faith!

The psalmist said: “I rise before dawn and cry for help; I wait for your words” (Psalm 119:147)

When the father of the demon-possessed boy was confronted with his lack of faith, he cried out to Jesus, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief” (Mark 9:24)

There’s nothing wrong with asking God for the things we’re struggling with, especially for something as important as FAITH.

Jesus said that “many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people” (Matthew 24:10)

Friends, let’s not be one of those who become deceived.

I hope you’ll share this message with others. It’s important we remind people of this one tactic that Satan is using across the world to bring people down. Thank you for listening.

Blessings,
